Sryana Sukdev from the Department of Physiology has been awarded the Helen Goodwin Doctoral Scholarship from the Auckland Medical Research Foundation.
This prestigious award is worth $149k over three years, and covers a doctoral stipend, tuition fees, research costs, and a travel award. Sryana will be studying the ‘Therapeutic potential of sodium nitrite treatment to help save the brain during ischemic strokeā. She will be supervised by Dr Fiona McBryde, Dr Mickey Fan, AssociateĀ Professor James Fisher and Dr Tonja Emans.
