Sryana Sukdev from the Department of Physiology has been awarded the Helen Goodwin Doctoral Scholarship from the Auckland Medical Research Foundation.

This prestigious award is worth $149k over three years, and covers a doctoral stipend, tuition fees, research costs, and a travel award. Sryana will be studying the ‘Therapeutic potential of sodium nitrite treatment to help save the brain during ischemic strokeā€™. She will be supervised by Dr Fiona McBryde, Dr Mickey Fan, AssociateĀ  Professor James Fisher and Dr Tonja Emans.
