Congratulations to Dr Jonathan Astin from the Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology for receiving a Marsden project grant. His project is titled ‘Tracing the Drains: Uncovering a new origin for lymphatic vessels’.
His lab will use a combination of lineage tracing, live imaging, and genetics to determine the developmental origin of a novel lymphatic vessel progenitor. It is hoped that the findings from their study will help vascular biologists understand the developmental heterogeneity of lymphatic vessels that underpins their response to injury and disease.
