We welcome Dr Natalie Netzler from the Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology. Natalie is currently based in the Shepherd lab. She has a Health Research Council Pacific Postdoctoral Fellowship to investigate genetic variants that are unique to Pacific populations and how these variants may affect immunity and susceptibility to infectious diseases.
Natalie Netzler received a PhD from the University of New South Wales investigating broad-spectrum antivirals. She is Sāmoan, European and Māori with affiliations to Ngāti Ruanui, Ngāti Hauā, Te Āti Awa. Natalie has several years of experience working within the biotech industry in projects spanning cancer and vaccine development.
