Congratulations to Dr Nicola Gillies and Dr Amy Lovell from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, who were awarded HRC grants in the latest HRC funding round.
Dr Nicola Gillies was awarded an HRC Health Delivery Activation Grant ($29,856) for a study titled, ‘Perspectives and priorities for nutrition research in Ehlers-Danlos syndrome’ where Dr Gillies and her group hope to understand perspectives and priorities for future research from the Ehlers-Danlos community and clinicians involved in their care. The work will culminate in forming a ‘community of practice’ for future funding applications.

Dr Amy Lovell was awarded an HRC Health Delivery Project Grant ($1.35 million) for research titled, ‘Development and implementation of nutrition guidelines in childhood cancer’ where Dr Lovell and her team aim to co-design guidelines to support nutrition that is standardised, culturally responsive, guided by evidence and consensus, reflective of patient and whānau feeding experiences, and are available for all children with cancer regardless of their weight at diagnosis or geographical location.
