The Gluckman Medal is the University’s premier medical research award and recognises Professor Dragunow’s sustained research contributions to our faculty.
Professor Dragunow’s research spans more than 30 years, during which time he has made outstanding research contributions in neuropharmacology. These include identifying neuronal gene regulatory pathways that control brain function, identifying molecular pathways of nerve cell death and repair, developing neurogenesis tracing methods, developing human brain tissue microarray methods, developing methods for growing human brain cells, and discovering compounds with potential for treating brain disorders.
