Congratulations to:
Ben Kao successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled ‘An investigation into the potential anti-cancer activities of an extract from a Himalayan fungus’ He was supervised by Emeritus Professor Lynn Ferguson and co-supervised by Dr Karen Bishop and Associate Professor David Greenwood.
Xinjian Mao successfully defended his thesis entitled ‘Use of multicellular spheroids and agent-based modelling to optimise combination therapies with hypoxia-activated prodrug SN30000’. He was supervised by, Dr Kevin Hicks and Prof Bill Wilson. Xinjian is currently working at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research in Kansas City on small molecule approaches to targeting colorectal cancer stem cells.
We welcome PhD student Minghan Yong. His project title is ‘Study of Potential Biomarkers for Response to Mycophenalate and Cyclophosphamide’ He is supervised by Dr Nuala Helsby, co-supervised by Dr Janak de Zoysa (Medicine) and Dr Kathryn Burns.
