Tiffany Eng, Wenxuan Chen and Jonathan Astin have published a paper entitled “Zebrafish facial lymphatics develop through sequential addition of venous and non-venous progenitors.” in the journal EMBO Reports. This study used live-cell imaging to identify a new origin for lymphatic vessels and helps overturn a 100 year-old hypothesis that lymphatic vessels are exclusively derived from veins.
