Congratulations to the staff on their outstanding achievements:

  • Congratulations to Anuj Bhargava and Angela Tsai, who along with Sonia Fonua (TKHM) were awarded the inaugural FMHS Professional Teaching and Leadership Development Grant. The grant awarded was for a sum of $6000

.     

  • Congratulations to Dr Peter Freestone for receiving a Davis & Carr Senior Research Fellowship awarded by the Auckland Medical Research Foundation. Peter’s research uses cutting-edge optogenetic, electrophysiological and electrochemical techniques to better understand the brain networks affected by Parkinson’s disease, from a single synapse through to whole animal scale.

  • Congratulations Lorna Daniels from department of Physiology who won the Australian Physiological Society PhD Student Publication prize for her paper ‘Inhibition of calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase II restores contraction and relaxation in isolated cardiac muscle from type 2 diabetic rats’ published in Cardiovascular Diabetology from her PhD studies.
