We welcome Kim, new PhD student working under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Conole, Dr. Dean Singleton and Dr. Susan Richter. Her research aims to systematically and unbiasedly identify and functionally validate novel regulators of succinate dehydrogenase B (SDHB) mutant proteins that are clinically relevant in Māori with metastatic pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGL). In addition to providing novel insights into the fundamental biology underlying PPGL pathogenesis, successful identification and validation of these regulators could reveal potential viable druggable targets, paving the way for more tailored therapeutic strategies for SDHB-mutant PPGL in Māori.
