We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Nicky Lawrence as our new Director of Cancer Trials New Zealand.
Nicky is a highly respected Medical Oncologist. She brings experience working in a coordinating centre for cancer clinical trials at the University of Sydney, where she earned her PhD.
She has worked at CTNZ for the last 6 years, bringing passion for research and research education to her role. She convened the inaugural NZ concept development workshop, critical appraisal workshop and is a member of the ACORD protocol writing workshop international steering committee and served a term on the ASCO International Education Steering Group.
Nicky is co-lead of the Aotearoa Decentralised Clinical Trial Steering Committee. Nicky says “I am excited about this role and the opportunities for collaboration, with an aim to improve outcomes for patients with cancer across Aotearoa New Zealand”.
CTNZ remains committed to supporting researchers and clinical staff with ideas for clinical cancer research relevant to Aotearoa by supporting idea and protocol development, providing expertise in clinical trial design, conduct and analysis, as well as project management and database development.
