Pan X, Muir E R, Sellitto C, Jiang Z, Donaldson P J, and White T. W, published a paper entitled, ‘Connexin 50 Influences the Physiological Optics of the In Vivo Mouse Lens’.
Dr Wilson Pan, in collaboration with researchers from the Department of Physiology (led by Professor Paul Donaldson) and Stony Brook University (led by Professor Thomas White), has published a pivotal study in ‘Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science’.
The research investigates the role of Connexin 50 in influencing the physiological optics of the mouse lens, utilising advanced multi-parametric MRI techniques. This study reveals significant insights into how Connexin 50 modulates lens growth, water content, and optical properties.
These findings enhance their understanding of lens physiology and open new avenues for exploring the mechanisms underlying eye development and emmetropisation.
