We welcome Dr Alyona Oryshchuk, newly appointed Research Fellow, to the Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology. She is continuing with the work she had been doing during her doctoral studies in the Leukaemia & Blood Cancer Research Unit (LBCRU) in the Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology.
Scientists are excited they may have found a new way to treat acute myeloid leukaemia that could be more effective and have fewer side effects than current treatments.
Last week this research was featured on the University’s News and Opinion Page. TVNZ also picked up that news when they interviewed her mentor Professor Stefan Bohlander about this research.
