Please join me in congratulating Michael Plunkett and Anantha Narayanan, PhD students in the Fisher lab who represented their work and their department (Physiology) at the Integrative Human Cardiovascular Course at the University of Copenhagen. As part of the course, students had to make a short presentation of their research, with the best presentation being awarded the Bengt Saltin Prize and $200 NZD courtesy of Experimental Physiology.
Michael was awarded the first prize. His project is titled, ‘Exertional fatigue and dyspnoea in pulmonary arterial hypertension’. Anantha is a very closely competitive second. His project is titled ‘Assessing autonomic stress in the operating surgeon’. The prize included a fees-waived open-access publication in Experimental Physiology.
These awards are internationally competitive. Congratulations to Michael and Anantha, and their supervisors and teams.
