A warm welcome to Alison Kinross, Tracy Parker and Tracey Perry who joined the Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging in April 2023.
Alison (Ali) Kinross joined the Anatomy and Medical Imaging Department in April 2023 as a PTF in Medical Imaging (Ultrasound). Ali grew up in Canada and completed her studies at McMaster University and the Michener Institute. She previously worked as a sonographer on Vancouver Island and in Fife, Scotland before moving to Wellington in 2021.
Ultrasound continues to amaze her as a profession, and she is looking forward to sharing her enthusiasm with students in her new role with the university. She is grateful to have found such a rewarding career and is very excited to be a part of the team! We welcome Ali and are looking forward to her contribution to the training of sonographers in New Zealand.
Tracy Parker joined the Anatomy and Medical Imaging Department as a PTF in Medical Imaging (MI) in February 2023. She is a Medical Imaging Technologist registered in the general scope of practice and has many years of experience in both clinical and academic medical imaging education, with Unitec.
She has completed a PG diploma in Health Professional Education at AUT and is currently undertaking a Master’s of Clinical Education through the University of Auckland. Tracy is very excited to be joining the MI team and looks forward to working with the team and continuing to learn with the students. We welcome Tracy to the MI team and are looking forward to her contribution to the delivery of MI PG courses.
Tracey Perry joined the Anatomy and Medical Imaging Department as a PTF in Medical Imaging (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) (MRI). She is originally from South Auckland and spent time overseas in England and Australia after completing her undergraduate degree in Medical Imaging at Unitec.
After discovering her passion for teaching in 2012, she was appointed as the clinical educator radiographer at Logan Hospital in Brisbane. She relocated back to Auckland in 2017 and commenced her Post Graduate Diploma in MRI in 2019, which she completed in December 2022. Tracey feels extremely privileged to return to a teaching role in a modality (MRI) that fascinates and excites her and is looking forward to engaging with and learning from students enrolled in the programme.
