Sibusiso Mdletshe, a staff member in the Medical Imaging programme, was recently recognized for his professional standing by two international bodies. Having been a Faculty Adjunct since the beginning of 2022 at the Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates, he was recently invited to join the Medical Imaging Research Group. The latter is part of the Health Sciences Research Framework within the Faculty of Health Sciences. His role will involve assisting and guiding the research group on different strategic and operational applied research matters.
Sibusiso was also recognized by the International Federation of Radiography Student’s Association (IFRSA) (also known as the International Association of Radiography and Radiological Science Students [IARRSS]) which invited him to be an Advisory Board Member. The IFRSA / IARRSS is a non-government organization representing the interests of medical imaging/radiography students worldwide and has Advisory Board Members around the globe.
These appointments will help grow the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences’ footprint and global reach. On accepting these invitations, he expressed his excitement about contributing to the growth of the profession globally and creating collaboration opportunities for staff and students.
