Congratulations to Kelly Zhou and Luis Knight who successfully defended their theses.

Kelly Zhou’s Department of Physiology thesis is titled, ‘Perinatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury – characterization, mechanisms and treatment’. She was supervised by Associate Professor Joanne Davidson and co-supervised by Professor Alistair Gunn and Professor Colin Green.

Luis Knight, Department of Physiology, has been placed on the Dean of Graduate Studies List in recognition of the excellent work he achieved with his PhD thesis. This award is a great achievement, as it is only presented to a few recipients each year from the many doctoral students who complete their theses.

He was supervised by Dr Julie Lim and co-supervised by Associate Professor Monica Acosta. His thesis is titled, ‘The xCT knockout mouse: A novel animal model for studying age-related changes in the retina’.
