Please join me in congratulating Ivanna Williantarra and Hannah Burden for defending their PhD thesis.
Ivanna Williantarra has been placed on the Dean of Graduate Studies List in recognition of her excellent work with her PhD thesis. This award is a great achievement, as it is only presented to a few recipients each year from the many doctoral students who complete their theses.
Her thesis was titled, ‘Stiffness controls primary cilia position and length: mechanisms and potential in reversing osteoarthritis phenotype’. She was supervised by Dr Sue McGlashan and is co-supervised Dr Sophia Leung, and Dr Yo Suk Choi.
Hannah Burden’s thesis was titled, ‘Understanding the Metabolic Effects of the Māori and Pacific Enriched Gene Variant, CREBRF rs373863828’. She was supervised by Professor Peter Shepherd and co-supervised by Associate Professor Troy Merry.
