Shree Kumar, a PhD candidate from the Department of Physiology was awarded first place in the creative item category in the SGS Research Showcase 2021, held online on 19 October 2021. She is supervised by Associate Professor Kathy Mountjoy
Shree’s creative model demonstrated the hormesis principle, the idea that, the brain develops by making new neural connections when exposed to ‘just the right amount’ of stress. Her research focuses on identifying the hormesis zone for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, stroke and obesity.
