Igor S. A. Felippe, a third year PhD student with Professor Julian Paton from the Department of Physiology was the recipient of The Data Sciences Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the Neural Control and Autonomic Regulation Section of The American Physiological Society. The American Physiological Society is one of the societies represented at the annual Experimental Biology meeting in the USA, which is one of the biggest international physiology meetings in the world.

In receiving the prize, Igor’s work entitled, ’Sympathetic Control of Carotid Body Sympathoexcitatory Reflex Responsiveness in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats’ has also been selected for oral presentation (via Zoom) at a virtual meeting of Experimental Biology in April later this year.
