Congratulations to Dawei Fan and Karan Givindpani who successfully defended their thesis.
Dawei Fan thesis is entitled ‘Plasma cyclic-glycine-proline/IGF-1, a potential biomarker for circulating IGF-1 function and its applications in neurological conditions: New insights into the regulation of IGF-1 function in neurological conditions’. He is supervised by Associate Professor Jian Guan, Department of Pharmacology and co-supervisor is Dr Toni Picher, Department of Medicine, University of Otago
Karan Givindpani thesis is entitled ‘Characterisation of a novel GABA signalling system in the human cerebral vasculature’. He is supervised by Dr Andrea Kwakowsky and co-supervised by Associate Professor Henry Waldvogel and Distinguished Professor Sir Richard Faull from the Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging.
Karan’s name has been placed on the Dean’s List in recognition of excellence achieved with his PhD studies.
Delshad Kalantary has started her PhD on 1 August 2020. She is supervised by Dr Andrea Kwakowsky and co-supervised by Associate Professor Henry Waldvogel and Distinguished Professor Sir Richard Faull from the Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging.
His thesis is entitled ‘Optogenetic Modulation of GABAergic Hippocampal Neuronal Networks in an in Vivo Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease’
