Associate Professor Siouxsie Wiles is well known for communicating science to the public and she has won a string of awards for her efforts, including the Prime Minister’s Science Media Communication Prize and Royal Society Te Apārangi’s Callaghan Medal back in 2013. When the Covid-19 virus appeared, Siouxsie stepped up to deliver vital information to help people understand the pandemic and the need to lockdown. In the weeks leading up to alert level four, Siouxsie was followed by documentary maker Gwen Isaac. She’s made a short behind-the-scenes film of Siouxsie as she faced a growing media storm from the confines of her family home.
