A warm welcome to Ali Zahraei, who started his PhD in the Department of Physiology on 1st of August 2019. He is supervised by Dr Gus Grey, co-supervised by Prof Paul Donaldson, Dr Nicholas Demarais, and advised by Prof Kevin Schey (Vanderbilt University, USA)
His PhD project, is entitled, ‘Mapping and manipulation of lens redox metabolites to develop an anti-cataract therapy’. He will investigate changes to ocular lens metabolism that occur as cataracts develop using Imaging Mass Spectrometry.
