Dr Julie Lim recently attended The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Annual Meeting, held in Vancouver, Canada. ARVO is the largest eye and vision research organization in the world with nearly 12,000 researchers from over 75 countries and advances research into understanding the visual system and preventing, treating and curing its disorders.
Dr Lim presented her research on antioxidant pathways in the lens in a mini symposium titled “Physiological Biochemistry of the Lens”. In addition, at this meeting, Julie was elected by her peers to represent the Lens section and serve a 3 year term on the Annual Meeting Program Committee. She will be involved in organising the scientific content of the lens programme for the next annual meetings to be held in Baltimore, San Francisco and Denver.
