Congratulations to Shevan Silva and Jane Wu for successfully defending their thesis.

Jane Wu successfully defended her thesis ‘Subthalamic nucleus in the Human Brain’. She was supervised by Associate Professor Henry Waldvogel and co-supervised by Professor Sir Richard Faull and Dr Suzanne Reid.

Shevan Silva successfully defended his thesis ‘Mechanisms of action of TH-4000, a hypoxia-activated pan-HER inhibitor: Potential for targeting wild-type EGFR in non-small cell lung cancer’. He was supervised by Associate Professor Adam Patterson and co-supervised by Dr Jeff Smaill and Dr Chris Guise.

Huge congratulations to Dylan Pen from the Department of Physiology, for winning the Physiological Society of New Zealand Poster prize at the recent MedSci congress held in Queenstown.

His Masters thesis investigates the role of aortic chemoreceptors in control of coronary blood flow and he is supervised by Dr. Rohit Ramchandra.
